Can I deduct the amounts of franchise and mutual assurance paid in the year for the purchase of prescription drugs?

Yes. It is possible to claim these payments as medical expenses.

Use the keyword Medical to enter the appropriate amounts.

Note, however, that the amounts of franchise and mutual assurance paid in the year are not included in the calculation of the contribution payable to the Quebec prescription drug insurance plan (schedule K).
